The Budget: As President of the Wicomico County Council for the past one and a half years, I am proud to say that our county budget is balanced and on the right track to fund the necessary functions of government. We have trimmed out unnecessary spending and worked closely with our County Executive to implement programs that will benefit all county residents.
Education: Our schools continue to require adequate funding for maintenance and upgrades and I am committed to making sure that our tax dollars are spent wisely in this department. We must adequately fund education and do what we can to ensure that we are producing the best trained students who are ready to either go to college or begin a career. I was proud to vote for construction of a new Bennett Middle School which should be completed by 2015.
Agriculture: As a fifth generation farmer, I know how important agriculture is to our economy and our quality of life the Bay region. Farmers are tremendous stewards of the land, and ensuring a viable agricultural future in this county has been and will continue to be a top priority for me.
Crime: We have a strong leadership team in this County under the direction of State's Attorney Matt Maciarello and Sheriff Mike Lewis. This council will continue to fully fund law enforcement and look for continued ways to keep our residents safe.
